Definition Signs/ Symptoms First Line options
Antibiotic
* Acute UTI that is confined to the bladder
* There are no signs or symptoms that suggest an upper tract or systemic infection. 		Dysuria, Urinary frequency, Urinary Urgency , Suprapubic pain

Select one of the following antibiotics:

  • Nitrofurantoin 100 mg orally every 12 hours
  • TMP/SMZ 160 mg/800 mg orally every 12 hours
  • Fosfomycin 3 g orally
Second Line Options

Select one of the following antibiotics:

  • Amox/Clav 1 g orally every 12 hours
  • Ciprofloxacin 500 mg orally every 12 hours
  • Levofloxacin 500 mg orally every 24 hours
Duration: Female 3- 5 days , Males 5 -7 days
